      BYAMBA SAKHYA

Byamba Sakhya graduated in 1996 as cinematographer at the VGIK Russian State Institute of Cinematography. Since 1998 he is an independent filmmaker with an extensive track-record as writer, director, DoP, line-producer and editor of both fiction and non-fiction films.

In 1999 he won the “Goo Maral”, Mongolia’s state award for Best Documentary. In 2002 Byamba was a resident fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart and was awarded Prince Clause Fund Film Grant -2009. In 2008 he and Ariunaa Tserenpil  founded their independent production company Guru Media and currently producing documentary “Passion” and “Remote Control “by Byamba Sakhya.

Also he has worked as director and cameraman of different TV program and music TV including a program for BBC.

      TSERENPIL ARIUNAA

Ariunaa’s career in the arts started in 1996 as project manager and line-producer of the acclaimed films State of Dogs (Brosens & Turmunkh) and Real Men Eat Meat (Maria von Heland). She was the coordinator (1997 -2000) and then director (2000 -2002) of the Arts & Culture Programme of the Mongolian Foundation for Open Society (Soros Foundation). Since 2002 she is the Executive Director of the Arts Council of Mongolia. Ariunaa is also the initiator and organizer of the Ulan Bator Int’l Documentary Film Festival  (Interdoc) and Mini Margaret Mead  International Documentary Film Festival in Mongolia. In 2008 she and Byamba founded their independent production company Guru Media and currently producing documentary “Passion” & “Remote Control” by Byamba Sakhya.
